The selfish members of the Minneapolis City Council had once feared for their lives as they experimented with the idea of defunding the police. Their once-great idea has now become a sore spot on their record as crime rates are rising at an incredible rate. The city council members have to give answers to the public as to why crime is rising. Their responses only try to shift the blame to others.
Democrats never think through their actions until it is too late. Two months ago, they thought it would be a great idea to defund the police department. Their decision to do so was based on the spur of the moment as protestors marched around the city.
In a classic case of blame-shifting, the council members dug in the police Chief Medaria Arradondo about the rise in crime. So far, people are stealing cars, breaking into homes, assaulting people, and gun crimes happening in broad daylight. Instead of pointing the finger at themselves, they try to pin their bad decisions on the police chief.
Jamal Osman is asking what everyone wants to know, and that is, “Where are the police?” The city council should not even have to ask the question. They should be able to tell everyone that they defunded the police and had a bunch of them fired. After all, that is what a small percentage of the people wanted.
The Democrats joined forces with the carjackers and murderers and gave them a city ripe for the taking. The Black Lives Matter creeps got the city council to defund the police, and now they are paying for it by having to answer for their bad decisions based on how they felt.
Osman went on to say, “That is the only public safety option they have at the moment. MPD. They rely on MPD. And they are saying they are nowhere to be seen.” Osman gets a high-five for stating the obvious and trying to duck out of owning up to his mistakes.
Let the fighting begin as Lisa Bender, another council member, would go one to accuse the police of not doing their job as a way to get back at the Democrats. That thought is typical of liberals that do not believe they are capable of making mistakes. She went on to say that “This is not new. But it is very concerning in the current context.”
The police chief is bowing to the demands and accusations of the council. It is not the fault of law enforcement that they cannot answer every call. The liberals have caused a shortage of police officers. Arradondo stated that “We need to make sure that our communities know that we are going to be there, that we’re going to be responsive. We’ve taken an oath to do that.”
The ones that need a lashing are the Democrats on the council and not the police. Officers on the force are leaving in the droves because they count the cost of being an officer too high to live with. They simply cannot trust that the leaders in government any longer. And there is no one to support the officers if they need help. These are dark times for the people of Minneapolis.
The city council had a great idea to hire “violence interrupters” that was supposed to take police officers’ place. But what they are finding is that talking to a toddler is like trying to herd cats. It does not work. Criminals only know violence, and it will take force to stop their actions. No amount of talking will ever help diffuse a deadly confrontation.
A community-based system of law will never work when the community itself is criminal. The only thing that the city council has done is to let crime bosses wet up shop and enact a mafia-style of rule on people. No amount of talk is going ever to put a person in prison where they belong for murder or other felony-based crimes. Police are needed and should be supported a lot more than they are in these liberal prisons around the country.
