Watch What Democrats Say About Election Year SCOTUS Confirmations – in 2016

The RNC is taking us all on a trip down memory lane, unleashing one of their most effective ads yet. While the Democrats are putting up a major fight when it comes to SCOTUS confirmations now, they were not singing this tune back in 2016.

The ad puts the blatant hypocrisy on full display. Nancy Pelosi, Hillary Clinton, and the like have been caught in their lies…again.

Not long ago, Joe Biden said that “the American people deserve a fully-staffed court of nine.”

    We agree.

These two were telling everyone about the constitutional mandate to fill these vacancies back then. What changed now?

We are sure that the DNC is about to prepare their response video and we can’t wait to see it. This ought to be good. “The American people deserve a fully staffed court of nine,” said Joe Biden at the time.

We all knew that these old comments would get exposed as soon as the news came in about RBG. It was all so predictable.

The same Biden clip is included twice in the ad and we are sure that this decision was made intentionally. The Kamala Harris clip that was also included was no accident. We can’t stop laughing at their own willingness to make themselves look silly.

The Trump campaign has now been handed the hammer to beat the Democrats with. You can bet your bottom dollar that Trump is going to be banging on this point until election day.

In a way, this is one of the worst things that they could have done. They are providing the GOP with the tools that they need to expose the corruption more directly.

President Trump says he will soon nominate a justice to replace the late Ruth Bader Ginsburg on the Supreme Court.

Kayleigh McEnany is already getting started, bless her heart. When she spoke with CBS This Morning host Gayle King, she was quick to let her know that Biden is the one they should be speaking with.

He’s the one who had such solid principles when it came to filling Supreme Court vacancies. It did not take long for those principles to be abandoned entirely.

That’s the Democrats for you. They are huge proponents for saying one thing and doing another. King points out one thing that the GOP may or may not be prepared for.

There are plenty of clips of Republican party members making similar comments back in 2016. King wonders if this is merely a part of “power politics”.

In other words, how can a party be made to feel as if they are doing something right when they are only playing the cards that they are being dealt with?

Since the Republicans had the power to hold up the nomination back in 2016, they can’t be expected to let up now. They have the power to push their candidate through at the moment and the Democrats would definitely do the same if they could.

In those terms, the ad may not have the desired effect. It’s some red meat to serve to their voting base, which loves to point out Democratic hypocrisy. If anything, the ad reinforces the fact that everyone in Washington, D.C. is not exactly operating under the clearest set of principles. Republicans may not appear to be as self-serving but that’s beside the point now.

In our humble opinion, the Republicans need to embrace the idea that this is a power play. There is nowhere else to go from here. It’s not like their voters are opposed to these ideas.

Gone are the days where these parties need to pretend that they are engaging in the usual pleasantries. The election is going to be taking place in a little over a month, so there’s no reason to play nice at this point.

The kid gloves need to come off so that we can actually get down to business. The GOP has one very simple goal at this point: push their nomination through before it is too late.

Perhaps their next ad should drop all of the pretenses and aim straight for the jugular. This is a turning point moment for the GOP.
