What could be scarier than Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez serving as a Representative in Congress? It turns out she’s got her sights set on bigger and better things. In an interview with Vanity Fair, she discussed the possibility of looking outside the US House of Representatives.
The reality is that she doesn’t see herself staying where she’s at forever. Does that mean that she doesn’t plan on being a career politician? Well, she’s not saying that either.
There has been plenty of talk that she would push for the 2024 presidential race. She’ll have reached the 35-year minimum age requirement by then. Additionally, it has been discussed that Joe Biden would only be a one-term president – particularly given his age.
Would AOC have the ability to win the Democratic primaries? She’s a female, which seems to get candidates relatively far. She’s also Latino, which means that she’d get some of the minority votes. She’s one of those politicians where you either love her or hate her.
AOC is on the left-wing – and very much to the left. She’d basically pick up where Bernie Sanders left off, leading the country closer toward the ideals of socialism. It’s not a pretty place to be, and we don’t want to be led down that path. However, she talks a good talk – and it would be easy for her to sway young voters because she’s not the typical 60 or 70-year-old candidate.
There are four years between now and then — she doesn’t have to throw in her hat to the race anytime soon. If she weren’t to run for president, at least not in 2024, there’s also the possibility of her running for the Senate. If she can get the vote as a Representative, it would be likely that she could also get the vote as a Senator. It would come with a slightly higher status since there are only two Senators voted in for every state.
What would Senator AOC be like? Well, there’s always the possibility that she could threaten the seat of Minority Leader Chuck Schumer in 2022. That would certainly shake things up. While she wouldn’t have enough seniority to take on the position of Minority Leader, she would knock Chuck Schumer out of the Senate – and that could lead to a number of interesting things – especially if someone younger can gun for Nancy Pelosi’s Representative seat in California.
Because of how badly they did with the Impeachment Hoax, AOC will primary Cryin’ Chuck Schumer, and win, and Jerry Nadler has a good chance of losing to his far left primary opponent! It is all getting quite interesting. Pelosi will lose the House, AGAIN! My poll numbers great.

President Trump has been looking at the possibilities for quite some time. By shaking things up in the House and Senate, it could mean some of the bigger names lose their seats. Particularly in New York, it could mean that Kristin Gillibrand, the other Democratic Senator, could lose her position.
AOC will need to start the campaigning process very soon if she wants to gain some traction as a Senator. Meanwhile, it would leave her Representative seat open, leading to the possibility of a Republican grabbing it. Could that mean that it would be possible for the GOP to regain control of the House and the Senate for 2022? It’s certainly possible.
Before we go hoping for AOC to make a run for the Senate, we have to look at what she could do with this newfound power. She’s made a lot of progressive policy pushes. Further, she’s a huge proponent of the New Green Deal. The climate-based policies require a lot of money – and there’s no telling where that money would be pulled from.
It appears that AOC wants to stay in politics because she’s committed to making a change. Unfortunately for us, that change isn’t anything that we’d want to see because it takes us away from capitalism and democracy – two things that we know are important to the way the United States functions.
Whether the New York Democrat makes a run for Senator or President, she’s planning on moving up so that she can help to make bigger decisions. We can only hope that the shift allows the GOP to regain House control at the same time.
