Greg Abbott, the Republican Governor from Texas, just made a strong counter move against President Joe Biden. The governor announced that his state has allocated $1 billion in its fiscal year budget toward border security.

Abbott shared on “The Ingraham Angle” that he will use a portion of that money to resume the building of the border wall between the United States and Mexico. This wall was started by former President Donald Trump, but the construction was quickly stopped by President Biden.

The Texas governor spoke on “The Ingraham Angle” directly from the border near Del Rio. He said that he has had enough of the “willful” disregard from the White House. They fail to keep the rule of law and are not focused on the well-being of Texans and Americans. Especially the people in the towns on the border.

“To make a fine point on it, we have to build a border wall,” said Abbott. “I’ve been down here talking to the people in the Rio Grande Valley and the way they are being overrun is reprehensible, it’s disastrous what the Biden administration has done.”

Governor Abbott challenged Biden for bringing to an end the “Remain in Mexico” policy that Trump put together with Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador. That plan succeeded in decreasing the number of migrants because they were instructed to file for asylum while still in Mexico before they crossed into the United States.

“[Trump] began building the border wall and now suddenly all of that disappeared and as you highlighted, it has led to a dramatic increase in the number of people crossing the border but it’s not just on the company minors, its people were causing great damage and harm to the residents right here in Del Rio as while his people up and down the entire border,” said Abbott.

Abbott made this case in his state of emergency declaration noting that the Texas Department of Public Safety can increase penalties for crimes such as trespassing. This will serve to increase the number of arrests police can make with illegal immigrants moving onto the state’s land.

“We’re going to take this very seriously, we’re going to do everything possible to secure our border, including building a border wall,” Abbott said. He added that he will give more details on future plans later next week.

During the Texas Governor’s address, he took aim at Vice President Kamala Harris. He referenced her ineffective tact with border security and called the White House administration’s behavior “willful” and worse.

“[I]t is purposeful. It’s wanton disregard for the border laws, for the immigration laws, for the border communities, for candidly anybody in the United States of America,” he said.

“The Biden administration has abandoned the border [and] any pretense of border security, any pretense of enforcing our immigration laws. They’ve laughed it off just the exact same way that the vice president laughed it off in that interview the other day, and so it is a joke to the Biden administration..”

When the vice president was recently asked about the crisis at the border by Lester Holt of NBC News, she laughed. The Texas governor responded by saying, “But we are not taking it as a joke in Texas. We are going to step up and respond the way we must respond to secure the sovereignty our state, to prevent the invasion that’s taken place in front of our very own eyes.”

If anyone is not sure of where Abbott stands, this last word should seal the deal, “What people have seen in videos across the country seems to be the Biden Administration welcoming these people to the United States. We won’t be sending that message,” the governor said. “If you come to Texas, you’re subject to being arrested. You’re not going to have a pathway to roam the country. You’re going to have a pathway directly into a jail cell.”
