The most controversial figure in U.S. politics today is without question, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene. Like her or hate her, it doesn’t matter and she doesn’t care. She’s a firecracker who says what she wants when she wants to. There’s no backing the lady down and there’s no changing her mind. Every syllable she speaks is etched in stone.
The liberals at Twitter didn’t like a recent tweet of Greenes so treating her like a misbehaving toddler they sentenced her to a 12-hour timeout. It was intended to teach her a lesson she doesn’t care or need to learn. Greene didn’t take it very well, but then again, who would? It’s “a Communist-style attack on free speech,” she said.
Twitter said Ms. Greene was tweeting dangerous misinformation about the coronavirus that could be potentially harmful to the nitwits who buy into her nonsense horse-puckey. Well…this is what they wanted to say and it’s what they meant.
Greene is convinced that “Twitter, Facebook, and the rest of the Silicon Valley Cartel are working hand in hand with the White House to censor Americans.” No argument there. If you’ve had the pleasure of being locked in Facebook jail for disagreeing with Zuckerburgs lame philosophies, you understand and you probably agree with her. We are free to say only the things we are allowed to say. Conservative views, facts, and opinions are expressly verboten.
Greene got riled up when Joe Biden tasked tech companies with taking a strong stance against rumors that vaccines were “killing people.” She disputed Biden and Twitter had a meltdown. In response, the social platform said they’ve taken down thousands of misinformation tweets in addition to Greenes, but the suspension came as a result of her being a habitual offender.
Twitter employs an elaborately stupid method called a “strike system” for weeding out information contrary to what they profess to be the truth. By way of using artificial intelligence, Twitter’s mindless incapable of human thought software supposedly identifies all tweets that cross their self-imposed grain, and it keeps a running tally.
Two or three strikes, depending on the software’s mood, will lock an account for 12 hours such as in Greene’s case. Four strikes will get ‘ya a week and five or more could get a user forever banished from Tweet-Land.
Hiding behind their keyboards, Twitter responded to Greene’s suspension by email. “We took enforcement action on the account @mtgreenee for violations of the Twitter Rules, specifically the Covid-19 misleading information policy.” Misleading? It depends on who you ask and they aren’t currently entertaining questions.
Here’s what was said in the tweet that broke Twitter’s back. Greene told her followers that the virus “is not dangerous for non-obese people and those under 65.” Now, before you agree or disagree with her medical prognosis, this is not what any of this is about. It has nothing to do with the coronavirus. It has everything to do with free speech and your right to believe whatever it is you chose to believe. Period!
“These Big Tech companies are doing the bidding of the Biden regime to restrict our voices and prevent the spread of any message that isn’t state-approved,” Greene said. “I will not back down.” A more valid point has never been made. State-approved sounds a bit communistic, don’t you think? We do.
Just as social media has done their best to silence former and still rightfully should be, President Donald Trump, they’re now trying to pick off his devoted politician followers one by one. The most vocal of which is Georgia Republican Marjorie Taylor Greene. She’s blazing a trail towards disappearing from social media altogether and it’ll be a sad day when she’s forced to go. It’ll be a punch in the eye to the signers of America’s constitution. The one we claim to abide by.
Freedom of speech is defined as “the right to express any opinions without censorship or restraint.” There’s also a blurb about this somewhere in the First Amendment. The very first amendment to be written. It was that important. Greene hasn’t lost sight of the fact and no red-blooded-patriot American should either.
Speak your mind or forever hold your peace. It’s your inalienable and God-given right.
